Ok I've been slacking on my blogging so I will write 2 posts today. These are newborn pics that were taken when Kaycee was 10 days old. I just got the disc so I need to create her birth announcement soon!

Adoption Timeline

Adoption #1
November 2009-- Steven Curtis Chapman Concert-- Kierstin asks Chris about adopting after hearing Steven's stories about his adopted daughters-- he says "ask me in 5 years."
December 2009- March 2010-- Kierstin researches adoptions-- buys books, reads blogs, talks to friends who adopted and then begs Chris to adopt!
March 2010-- Chris agrees to begin the Russian adoption process with EAC. We begin the paperwork process and send in a formal application. We become very overwhelmed by the paperwork and financial aspect of international adoption.
April 2010-- Big scandal with Russian boy being sent back and the uproar and controversy makes us rethink Russian adoption. Lots of prayers for our next move.
May 2010-- We attend a Bethany Christian Services seminar on domestic and international adoption in Winter Garden. We decide to pursue domestic adoption.
We finish our paperwork within 2 weeks and then attend the 2 day required domestic adoption class. We fall even more in love with domestic adoption.
June 2010-- Home study done in one long full day. Profile book made on Shutterfly and video made for the website.
Now we wait for references, fingerprint results and the social worker to complete our home study paperwork.
July 2010-- Officially waiting... our profile is on Bethany's website for anyone to view nationwide
October 2010-- Chosen by a Birthmom due 10/24/10. Had great meeting with birthmom and agreed to semi-open adoption with 1-2 visits a year (supervised) as well as pictures and written updates.
October 29, 2010 Kaycee Jaselle is born at 1:30 am weighing 7 lbs 1 oz, 20 inches long
October 31, 2010 Papers signed and Kaycee discharged home with us
November 11, 2010 Our first visit with KBM and her sister and daughter at Bethany Christian Services office
November 30, 2010 An impromtu visit with KBM when we went to see Santa-- initiated by me
December 7, 2010 Our first (of 3) home review with the director of our agency
December 26, 2010 KBM comes to our house for a visit-- now this really is a OPEN adoption!! It went great!
February 10, 2011 Adoption Finalized in Orlando Court House

Adoption #2
December 5, 2011 We sent in our application with our Christmas card to Bethany Christian Services
December 7, 2011 Bethany called and said they got our app and were ready for our profile book and paperwork ASAP. I got our profile book done that night and ordered after the Director proofed it online. Set up physicals and finger printing for the next week.
December 15, 2011 Profile books arrived at Bethany's Office
December 19, 2011 Bethany received all our paperwork. We are officially a waiting family
January 19, 2012 Still waiting... I guess we had to hurry up and wait. Lesson is "God is in charge."
March 18, 2012 Waiting-- no girls due in the near future
June 12,2012 We hear about a situation with a private lawyer in Jacksonville-- we pray about it and decide to submit our profile to them
June 19, 2012 CHOSEN!!!!! By Jacksonville Birthmom with a 6 week old African American baby girl!
June 20, 2012 Meet with lawyer, counselors and birthmom and have lunch with birthmom "D" and her baby
June 21, 2012 TPR signed by "D" and we come home with Jenna!!!!!
